Victorian Christmas Market 2020 Cancelled.

Victorian Christmas Market 2020 Cancelled.

Following a tough year and many hard decisions we wanted to get in touch with news on the Victorian Christmas Market at Gloucester Quays.

Over the last few weeks we have been speaking with the team, local authority and health & safety teams to explore options for the Victorian Christmas Market. Last year we had staggering numbers to the market and with COVID-19 still with us we have explored lots of options for how we manage crowds over a sustained period of 11 days whilst keeping our traders safe, visitors, our team, supporters and suppliers.  We have watched the news intently to see local lockdowns cause chaos for towns and cities across the country with very small windows to react.  It is with all aspects taken into account that for this year we see no alternative but to postpone the Victorian Christmas Market to 2021.

This decision as I am sure you can imagine has not been easy.  We want to support all our traders and we, ourselves can’t wait to be back to safer times. We have submitted plans and ideas for having a level of trading this side of Christmas and we’re delighted to have secured approval to extend our Orchard Street Market programme into November and December. The market has been a big hit locally for both traders and visitors, August was a great month and we have dates for Sept and October which already have a great number of traders on board.

The dates and timings for additional  Orchard Street Market –  7th and 8th November also 5th and 6th December  (Sat 10am – 5pm), (Sunday 11am – 5pm). Each will be a two day market and held in Mariners Square. The Ice Rink is planned to be in Orchard Square. The markets will be supported by marketing, PR and directional signage. We will have the festoon lighting in place for the stalls like we do for Victorian Market, we are also planning for Street-Food and music in support of the market. If you are interested in booking please get in touch.
